The Hive Poker Network is a young online poker platform (it must’ve been launched a short while ago because there’s absolutely no information available on it online yet), focused on offering operators a simple yet efficient and – at the end of the day – quite elegant solution for Windows, Mac as well as tablets and mobile phones. Sites operating off the Hive Poker network can indeed offer their players attractive bonuses, loyalty deals and other promotions. The software itself is excellent, and despite the fact that it is advertised as focused on being “light and user-friendly”, it doesn’t fall short in any way when it comes to graphics quality, lobby navigability and extra options, both graphics and game play-wise. In fact, at this point, it is safe to say that we were quite impressed by the Hive Poker software. The lobby is a classic and friendly sight, as are the individual tournament lobbies. The table graphics are simple, yet there is an air of sophistication about them, despite the fact that many of their current players haven’t yet bothered to swap their default avatars to something personalized. The avatars appear to be hand-drawn, and they’re quite original in a caricature-ish sort of way. All-in-all, we can see why this interface lends itself to mobile devices so well. The options available are plentiful and extremely useful. There’s the usual 4-color deck option, players can take notes on their opponents and they can set their winning hands to be mucked automatically, without showing them to their opponents. The player traffic currently mustered by the Hive Poker network is decent, but it’s not overly impressive. There are plenty of players at the tables, so there is liquidity indeed, but most of the action is stuck at the lower stakes cash game- and the low buy-in SNG and MTT tables. The tournament and cash game offering seems more than decent otherwise. The game selection is outstanding too, although games like Telesina don’t really get any traffic at all. The Hive Network features a fast-folding poker variant called InstaPoker.
