Absolute Poker review
A medium-sized poker room, AP doesn't have a whole lot going for it these days, especially in the wake of the Black Friday indictments. The good news is though that sites like Absolute Poker and Full Tilt Poker managed to strike a deal with the DoJ, which may just keep them in the online poker game, after some of them have had close brushes with bankruptcy.
AP do give their new players a hefty 100% match on their first deposit, up to $500. Absolute Poker does offer rakeback (30% to be exact) and if you are a good poker player and a reasonably clever person, this alone should be enough of a reason for you to join this poker room.
Clearing the first deposit bonus might not be easy. You have to play 100 raked hands – with a minimum of 50 cents raked on each – to have $10 of the bonus released, but with the Absolute Poker rakeback working for you, you have all the time in the world to do it.
An interesting thing is the fact that you’re allowed to buy in for No-limit games for the equivalent of 200 Big Blinds instead of a 100 ones. That means that if you play well and you are adequately bankrolled, it’ll be easier for you to dominate the opposition.
With the new influx of players to Absolute Poker, it’d be lie to call the place a “fish heaven”. Middle-stakes games can be especially difficult to beat, and if it weren’t for the rakeback, I’d probably say there wasn’t any money in them.
Their customer support is performed through email, with reasonable response times, cashout was fast and effective last time I did business with them. Never ran into any security-related issues there, or any fraud-suspicious activity either.
A final verdict? An interesting poker room, with a better than average client and mediocre graphics, made especially interesting by the 30% rakeback they offer.
